This is a photograph of the Jackson Funeral Home and Crematory that purchased the Historic Lott House in 1949 and turned it into a funeral business. A beautiful Chapel was built at the right of the house. Housing for the firms rolling stock, an ambulance (at the time) a hurse, several limousines, trucks and other equipment.
A festive community celebration was held on Sunday, July 24, 1949 when the Jackson-Thompson Funeral Home, as it was called in the early years, staged its formal opening for the public. Pictured in the advertisement (left to right) are Jim Thompson, Jack Lovingood, Clyde Jackson and Arch deCastrique.

They are (standing left to right) John Fox, Charles Jackson, Unknown, Neal Grissom. Fred Jackson and Percie Thompson. Seated (left to right) Clyde and Kate Jackson and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Thompson.
Clyde Jackson was well known throughout the community. He sung many times throughout the years at funerals and weddings. A favorite song of his was "Sunrise Tomorrow". He also served for a time as a Henderson County Commissioner.
